• Beyond Reasonable Doubt is a very high (perhaps too high) Standard of Proof
• Accordingly, I have a fairly low opinion of the use of Juries

Test Cricket Special for Satya!

 

After 5 days a game is declared a Draw ~ WRONG!

 

• This is No Result
• If you were to award 3 points for a WON game, and 1 point for a DRAWN game … in the case of No Result neither Team collects points
• The game is not drawn, its void!
 

 

 

Play until each side finish 2 complete innings

 

• Need to extend the time limit of the game until a Result is produced!
• Test Cricket ~ around 10 days with 1 or 2 reserve days
• The bowling side has to keep the overs coming – penalise bowling side for slow bowling perhaps by adding runs to batting side based on an adaption of Duckworth – Lewis
• Both sides must complete 2 innings – add up the runs, whoever has the highest number of runs - wins!

Allotment Types on Time Limits

 

• Or alternatively make it 500 overs each innings
• It could be:
• Time OR
• Number of overs

You will then need more Players:

 

• Add 3 players whom are not permitted to bat, but whom can field bowl and keep wicket that can come on and off as necessary to take fatigue of first 11 
• Enlarge the whole squad to 22 players so there is a larger pool of players to choose from in a Series

In a Points Table

 

• Assign 3 points for a Won test
• In the future one would expect actual Drawn tests to be almost non-existent
• If a test is not completed assign No Points
• Cricket uses Net Run Rate quite extensively hence this should be used to rank teams if they are on equal points

Rain

 

• Need to be MUCH more flexible around rain
• In > 8 days there is close to 100% certainty some sessions will be lost due to rain
• Schedule Reserve Days

DRS & Technology

• The less RESPONSIBILITY to umpires on the field the better especially as matches are going to be for such a longer duration!
• Umpires should never be carrying any player equipment 
• This should be reserved for other members of team
• 12th man shouldn’t bother with drinks, plenty of other things for them to do etc …

Councils licensing Gyms and other Recreational Facilities in Australia

Long over due ...

There is a need regulation for gyms and probably licensing in the same way Swimming Pools are regulated - it's time for Public Private Partnerships to get involved in recreation!

There's far too many:

martial arts, boxing, dance, fitness gyms, female gyms, weights gyms, fit circuit, etc ... 

Where they should all be SHARING and facilities and hence accessing rent subsidies ~ 

It doesn't make sense to pay for a wholly private facility when you ARE a public facility!

This could also go a way in making gyms a family friendly environment; 

Banning overt steroid use or very loud music for example ...

And yes Microsoft is the master of PPP (Public-Private-Partnerships) !!

The Australian Antarctic Territory will crop up again!

• Will inevitably come up again as … a final frontier vs. landing on the moon
• UK designated Australia large Antarctic Territory – near Australian Continental Shelf etc … 
• UK is still disputing it’s Antarctic Territory with Argentina
• Therefore is likely to attract Commonwealth Government spend in the future …

Australia is as customary, very fortunate ~
Whilst these countries operate research stations unlike Australia they do not have an explicit Territory as such:

• South Africa
• Russia
• Brazil
• Germany

Can the Newsagent survive if everything they sell is …

• Out of Date
• Not competitive with other stores.
• …

The Newsagent must evolve if it is not to disappear!

• Newspapers (available Online)
• Stationary (no longer competitive)
• Greeting Cards (social media etc …)
• Magazines (electronic distribution)
• Lotto and Travel Passes have online alternatives
• With declining customer base even harder to cross sell complimentary products etc!!

These things are really disappearing!

• Calendars
• Diaries
• Gift Wrapping

 

Newsagents (& Computers) means new Products:

• Expanded Scanning and Printing Facilities
• Convenient Supplies (Readily Available)
• Ink Cartridges & Toner
• Smart Phone Batteries
• A4 Paper
• USB Keys and Flash Drives
• Skype Gift Cards etc …
• Gift Vouchers etc …

 

But a Physical Presence is useful even if they no longer sell physical copies!

• Rent Newspaper Space to Newspapers
• Rent Magazine Space to Publishers
• Rent Lotto Space to Lotto Corporation
• Rent Greeting Card Space to Printers

Innovative Newsagents

• News agencies (& Similar) could develop labs for new product Offerings

 The Post Office needs to sit down and have a similar think!

I think they can in part as scanners and printers become (more) ubiquitous!

SharePoint not just Information Management ... but also to build skills!

There are many lists, libraries, pages etc ... in SharePoint that can store information ...

5. Enterprise Blogging Apps 
6. Custom Lists
7. Discussion Boards (if your main staff have Contribute status on these Apps)

SharePoint also assist in distributing information to staff not even necessarily via web or mobile client. This also includes via e-mail, print out in hard copy or even verbal instructions etc ... 

Using Information other relatively unskilled staff members through working with this organisation and armed with this information can continue to build on their experience  ... I may argue that Information Management is an initial step in building a Skilled Workforce!

On average most people need a job but at the same time we all should all highlight how critical are skills and skilled staff are to the Workforce!

SharePoint Document Control to hone, fine tune and optimise your Organisation ...

It's fairly common that workers may only be operating at 40 - 50% efficiency - overall the whole organisation may only run at 70% efficiency no matter how hard you strive to increase the performance - can a more complete and effective utilisation of information be used to get these (seemingly) unattainable tweaks ??

It all starts with capturing everything in text files ... Word Documents and Power Point slides to make sure everything important is retained ... Controlled Documents or Document Control can then assist to make sense of all of this mass of information!

Or maybe you've already captured it but you need some extra assistance in making sense of it all!
